Bisquick Pancakes

Bisquick pancakes are probably one of the easiest hot breakfasts to whip up in a hurry for family, friends, or even a big crowd of overnight guests – like when one of your kids is having a sleepover. All you really need is eggs, milk, Bisquick mix, and a large, hot griddle and butter and syrup for serving.

Basic Bisquick Pancakes

The basic pancake recipe uses 2 cups of Bisquick mix, 2 eggs (beaten), and 1 cup of milk. Simply beat all the ingredients together until well blended and then pour approximately ¼ cup portions onto a sizzling hot greased or nonstick griddle. Cook until the edges begin to dry and they are golden brown on the bottom, then flip and continue cooking until that side is golden brown, as well. Serve hot with real butter and syrup and watch them disappear. You can also serve them with jam or fresh fruit.

Bisquick Pancake Variations

There are all kinds of variations you can incorporate to delight your taste buds, create variety, and incorporate other healthy ingredients into pancakes for breakfast, too. Your family and kids will love trying different ideas!

Blueberries are a great antioxidant rich fruit and they taste delicious in Bisquick pancakes. Just stir 1 cup of fresh blueberries into the batter before cooking. Another option is bananas. Rich in potassium, you can incorporate bananas into your pancakes deliciously, as well. Slice them up, drop the slices onto the griddle, and then pour the pancake batter over the banana slices and cook.

Of course, kids always love chocolate clip pancakes. And you can incorporate variations such as white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or butterscotch chips, as well. Just stir ½ cup chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter, or butterscotch chips into the batter before cooking.

Creative, Fun Cooking

Think of fun creative shapes you can incorporate into your pancake cooking for kids. Most kids love Mickey Mouse pancakes – where you use batter to make a round circle for the face and then pour a smaller amount of batter on top of either side to make the ears, but there are other designs you can try, too. Why not cook up some snowman pancakes, making three circles with batter that are connected, small to large? Or how about a caterpillar with lots of little batter circles joined together in a row? Mini or silver dollar pancakes are also a big hit.

Make It a Meal

Bisquick pancakes are a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth way to start the day. Served with bacon and eggs, fresh juice, and a glass of milk – especially if you make one of the fruit varieties – provides a hearty, scrumptious breakfast or brunch.

But no one says you can’t serve pancakes at other times of the day, too! When you forget to thaw something out for dinner or you can’t make it to the store to pick something up, just pull out your box of Bisquick and make some pancakes for lunch or dinner. Alternatively, Bisquick pancakes served with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and chopped nuts would make a great dessert, too!
